Debbie Higgs is the founder, editor and major contributor to the online eventing resource, An Eventful Life <a target="_blank" href="http://www.an-eventful-life.com.au">www.an-eventful-life.com.au</a>

Debbie has a degree (BA) in French and Drama from the University of London, Westfield College (now part of Queen Mary College) and the Central School of Speech and Drama.

After moving to Australia in 1983 from the UK she worked in the IT industry for over 10 years for major IBM distributors and Compaq Computer Australia in Sales and Marketing, developing her marketing knowledge of IT principles and internet technology.

Following this time she worked with her husband Paul Higgs in their publishing services company Palmer Higgs during which time she has gained experience in all areas of publishing management from design to content management.

In 2010 Debbie published and co-wrote the book An Eventful Life - Life Stories of Eventing Champions and launched An Eventful Life website to promote the book.

In March 2011 Debbie was hired on a 12 month contract to re-launch an Australian equestrian magazine, Equestrian Life and establish an online presence for the magazine.

In June 2012 Debbie re-launched the website <a target="_blank" href="http://www.an-eventful-life.com.au">www.an-eventful-life.com.au</a> as a fully functional magazine style website covering eventing in Australia and around the world. Debbie has been responsible for managing all facets of the website's growth and development since that time as well as editorial control and writing much of the content. During this time she has covered many major equestrian events including Burghley International Horse Trials, the Australian International 3 Day Event, the 2013 Eventing WEG Test Event in Normandy and is accredited for the 2014 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

In February 2014, against strong international competition, An Eventful Life won the Equestrian Social Media Awards' Regional Category for Australia, New Zealand and Oceania and also the World Award, chosen by Richard Johnson, Director of Corporate Communication for the FŽdŽration Equestre Internationale (FEI), the international governing body for all Olympic equestrian disciplines.

Debbie is a British citizen and Australian permanent resident.
