ALLTECH A+ AWARD WINNERS RECEIVE PRIZES

IAEJ members Sébastien Roullier and Jan Tönjes were recently recognized for their outstanding coverage of the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Gamesâ?¢ 2014 in Normandy at a presentation held during the FEI European Championships in Aachen, Germany. Alltech Germanyâ??s Marketing Coordinator Elena Fisher and IAEJ vice president Gabriele Pochhammer presented Roullier, winner of the Alltech A+ Award in the article category and Tönjes, winner in the broadcast category, with their awards at a buffet luncheon for IAEJ members and their guests.
French journalist Sébastien Roullier won for his article “La Semaine Qui A Changé La Vie du Rudolphe Scherer,” co-written with Pauline Chevalier and published in Grand Prix Magazine. Jan Tönjes, editor of Germanyâ??s St Georg magazine won for his coverage of the show jumping final from the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Gamesâ?¢ 2014 in Normandy, broadcast on St. Georg LIVE.
The A+ Awards were established in 2010 by Alltech, in collaboration with the IAEJ, to reward creativity, passion and excellence in equestrian journalism. The focus of the awards program in 2015 was the 2014 World Equestrian Games in Normandy, France.
The highly competitive contest, which attracted entries from around the world, was judged by Grania Willis, FEI communications director; Alan Smith, former Daily Telegraph equestrian correspondent and photographer Peter Llewellyn, photo manager for the 2012 London Olympic and 2015 Toronto Pan Am Games.

Photo Category winner Mollie Bailey, USA, was presented with her award at the 2015 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event earlier this year.
Each of the winners received an Alltech â??A+â? award and a $500 prize. Alltech, which also sponsored the Hoofbeats grants in 2014, will continue to sponsor the Alltech A+ Awards in 2016. Guidelines for the Alltech A+ Awards 2016 will be announced on the IAEJ website: equijournalists.com.

Alltech A+ Award winners Sébastien Roullier and Jan Tönjes are looking forward to receiving their awards next week during the FEI European Championships in Aachen, Germany. A buffet luncheon for IAEJ members and their guests will follow.

PAN AM GAMES PARKING UPDATE
Attention members covering the Pan Am Games in Toronto. If you failed to acquire venue parking permits (VAPP) for the Caledon Equestrian Park, Jean Llewellyn, the venue press officer, has arranged free parking at the Hampton Bolton for any non-guests wishing to connect with the media shuttle bus. Please note the Press office will open two hours before competition commences and two hours after competition concludes.
Transportation is also available from the Main Media Center to Caledon Equestrian Park. Please see the schedule below for shuttle times. Shuttle times from Hampton Bolton are TBC and will follow.
