Frankfurt, Germany, December 17, 2018. — Madeleine Winter-Schulze has become only the third recipient of the IAEJ Bureau Award. The long time patron of some of Germany’s most successful riders, including Isabell Werth, Ludger Beerbaum and Ingrid Klimke, was presented with the award in front of a packed Frankfurt Festhallen at the Frankfurt International Horse Show.
Jan Tönjes, on behalf of the IAEJ Bureau, accompanied in the main arena by Isabell Werth, presented the former German national champion in dressage and jumping with an original painting in recognition of her unparalleled contribution to the equestrian world as a horse owner.
Winter-Schulze, one of only three recipients of the Golden Cross, Germany’s highest equestrian honor, has owned numerous championship greats such as Olympic and European Championship gold medalist Goldfever as well as Werth’s World Champion Bella Rose.
The IAEJ award has also only ever been bestowed twice before; to US chef d’equipe George Morris in 2012 and to British journalist Pippa Cuckson in 2014.
