Aachen German, July 21, 2018. — Congratulations to IAEJ member Eric Knoll who is this year’s winner of the prestigious Silver Camera Award. The award ceremony took place in the Main Stadium at the World Equestrian Festival, CHIO Aachen, on Saturday evening , July 21. Eric’s photo of show-jumper Philipp Weishaupt at the Grand Palais in Paris during the international show, Le Saut Hermès, was voted best of the 116 entries submitted.
Judging this year’s contest was Spanish dressage rider Juan Matute Guimón , Andreas Müller (Executive Director Zeitungsverlag Aachen), Erich Timmermanns (Director Advertising & PR Sparkasse Aachen), photographer Michael Strauch and ALRV Chairman Frank Kemperman. Second place went to local photographer, Luz Müller while Annette Dölger was third. The media prize for the best equestrian photo of the year is conferred annually by the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein e.V. together with the Sparkasse Aachen and the Rheinische Sparkassen & Giroverband. First prize receives prize-money of 2,500 Euros; the first runner-up receives 1,000 Euros and the second runner-up, 500 Euros.
