OLYMPIC PRESS BY NAME APPLICATIONS DUE FEBRUARY 5

January 12, 2016 — The deadline for completing Stage 2 of the press accreditation applications (Press by Name) for the Rio 2016 Olympic Games is Friday, February 5, 2016.

Accreditation applications received after this date will not be processed.

Before your Press by Name application can be processed you must have already completed and returned to the Rio Press Accreditation office an Individual Consent Form. Rio Accreditations should confirm receipt of that form and then will send you a Press by Name form to complete and return to them along with a passport-type photograph and a copy of your identification page from your passport.

Upon completion of the Data Review by Rio 2016 Accreditation, your Olympic Identity and Accreditation Card (OIAC) will be produced and mailed to your preferred address in May 2016. The OIAC will also act as a visa waiver for your entry into Brazil (please refer to section 6 in the manual for details) between 5 July 2016 and 28 October 2016. It is, therefore, paramount that your application be completed and received by the deadline.

Individuals whose accreditation data (including suitable photograph) arrives after the deadline will not receive a Pre-Valid Card and will need to follow normal visa procedures to enter and work in Brazil.

Please follow all instructions in the Press by Name Accreditation Manual. Should you need further assistance, please contact media.accreditation@rio2016.

The IAEJ strongly recommends that applicants confirm receipt of any documentation sent to the Rio Media Accreditation team.
